Welcome September Guest Sue Taylor

G'day, YNS friends! I can hardly believe that the summer has come and gone and we are at the beginning of September. We hope you've enjoyed your summer and are ready for lots of autumn inspiration coming up in the next few weeks! Here to help us with some of that inspiration this month is Sue Taylor-Hill and she's got some FABULOUS fall ideas for us today. Please help us in welcoming Sue this month!

Sue Taylor-Hill
Blog: Gertsgoods

In Sue's words:

My name is Sue Taylor- Hill and I live near Toronto, Ontarioa in Canada. I am a blessed wife, Mom of two wonderful Girls (and a lazy yellow Lab) and love to do anything with scrapbooking, cardmaking and crafting. I am a paper and embellishment hoarder (because it makes me happy) and I covet my Copic markers. When I am not in my craft room, I love spending time at the cottage and with my family.

I am thrilled to be a part of YNS for the next month and working with such a talented group of designers!

In my family, Thanksgiving is a huge affair and is always held at the cottage with family and friends. When I saw the Autumn Greetings stamp set, I knew I had to make things for our next dinner!

I created a card which can be used as an invitation, place cards and napkin rings.

How's that for the perfect Thanksgiving setting? I love your projects, Sue! If you asked me to dinner, I'd be totally WOW'd by all your attention to the details.

The set used in the above samples is called Autumn Greetings and the images in the set are as seen below:

Please head over to Sue's blog and give her a warm YNS welcome! Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Farewell August Guest Designer Sharla Laursen

I want to thank Sharla for a fabulous month on behalf of Karen and the YNS Design Team. We had Sharla as our Guest Designer for the month of June and August! If you missed her bright and whimsical introduction, you can see it here.

Here is Sharla's last project for the month of August - I thought she did an amazing job at the beginning of the month with her card... but her last project - WOW!!! Her scrapbook page is so on trend with colours and embellishments!

Sharla used the Insta Love set which is perfect for scrapbook layouts as well as cards. Look at how cute this couple is, friends!!! I'm so glad that Sharla shared a scrapbook layout with us - so personal and shows us little bit of her corner of the world.

Thanks again, Sharla. We loved your creations and you were such a delight to work with. We will definitely see you in Blogland and please keep in touch!

Digital Stamps Tips & Tricks- No Line Coloring

Hello everyone, Brianna here from Happy Scrapper! For today's tips & tricks, I will be showing you how to turn a digital stamp transparent for no line coloring. I used my Silhouette studio software when working with my digi, other programs you can use for this include, and or Microsoft Publisher.

1st: Bring the digi you want to work with into your Silhouette program.

2nd: Select the paint can in the upper right hand side of program (fill color window)

3rd: Go down to where it says Advance Options and select it. Now locate the slider bar that says transparency. I set my image to about an 82% transparency. You just want to be able to see your image very faintly.

I did a close up but this is my image after transparency, it's lighter in person.
Finished card using Tobi with Pinwheel
Copics Used: BV04,BV02,BV08,BV11,BV13,E13,E15,E07,R83,RV00,R81,C1
Spectrum Noirs: FS4,TN2,TN3,CR4(skin tones)
So as you can see, you can't see any lines. It looks as though I drew the image just using my markers.
This is the nice thing with digital stamps is, the possibilities are endless on what you can do.
I hope this has all inspired you to try your hand and no-line coloring.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

CAS Card Series

Hello! Kerri here with a card for our CAS series:) I'm not the best at CAS cards, so the first thing I wanted to do was find a good layout. I chose FTL303.

I started by stamping the background using a stamp from the YNS Dots and Hearts clear set. I then added the large heart that I cut out of Doodlebug Sugar Shoppe dp. Next, I die cut the LOVE using one of the YNS Whatnot Groovy 70's Dies, and lastly I cut the sentiment banner using a YNS Fishtail/Banner Die and stamped the YOU from the Darling Diva Marissa clear set. Very simple!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my card today:) Have a great Monday!

CAS Card Series

Hi all! It’s Maureen here to share my card for our CAS card series:

I love making Clean And Simple cards! I used the new Scripty Word Die Set, the Flourishes clear stamp set, and some Black Gumdrops. You may think that you can’t add texture to CAS cards, but you can using the Flourishes set just around the edges of your panel. This still leaves lots of white space, but helps your eye travel around the card.

You may also think that you can’t use embellishments on CAS card, but our fabulous Gumdrops are the perfect finishing touch – they add just a little dimension and you can use several of them and not overwhelm the card.

I hope this inspires you to create some CAS masterpieces! Thanks for stopping by! ~Maureen

Hello! My name is Kerri Michaud and I’m a stay at home mom to 3 kiddos ages 7, 5, and 2! We currently live in Apopka, Florida which is just outside of Orlando. I got into stamping about 2 years ago after I had my first Stampin’ Up party. I was instantly hooked LOL! Before then I had dabbled in scrapbooking, crocheting, sewing, quilting, jewelry making, and whatever other crafty whims that came my way. I think I have found my true passion in stamping and card making though! I also LOVE to make altered items and little gift boxes, etc. I am soooo excited and honored to be part of the Senior DT for Your Next Stamp! I ADORE these darling images and just love working with Karen and the rest of the DT!

We live in the Shuswap, part of the Northern Okanagan in beautiful British Columbia. I have been stamping seriously now for about 3 years and love this hobby and all the wonderful people I've been lucky enough to meet so far! Hi everybody! My name is Maureen and I live in sunny Hawaii with my husband, 2 boys and 3 dogs. When I'm not paper crafting, you can find me reading, watching TV, or playing on the computer. I'm so excited to be designing for Your Next Stamp and I hope I can inspire you at least a little with what I create!

Angel Rivera

Angel Rivera
Designer
My name is Angel and I’ve been stamping for over 8 years! I also scrapbook from time to time, but prefer making cards or other little projects. I try to escape to my craft room as often as my 3 boys (ages 16, 12 and 10) and all of their extra activities allow! My husband of 19 years, Derek, is supportive of my crafty time because he knows it makes me happy. I also work full time with a wealth management company and am a licensed life and health insurance agent. I’m so excited to be working with Karen and ALL of the YNS crew!

Bonnie Kohane

Bonnie Kohane
Designer
I am a second generation SAHM, which i call SAHGM. ("G" for grandma). I have been watching my grandkids for 7 yrs. I am also going through a second generation of crafting, i have a scrapbook that is almost 60yrs old filled with all of my favorite memories. I've been featured in Stamper's Sampler..more of an artsy card magazine...but my style tends to be "cute". Card crafting isn't the only thing i like to do, if i am not working on cards, you'd see me working at my sewing machine, crocheting or trying any new craft technique out there.. i love a challenge..which brings me to say..i can't wait to see what you all create for the YNS challenges!

Brianna Loeffelbein

Brianna Loeffelbein
Designer
Hello my name is Brianna also know as Happy Scrapper in the crafting world. I am 26 years old, I am married to a wonderful supportive husband of four years and we have an amazing two year old son Jayden. We live in a small northen town called Brainerd which is located in the state of Minnesota. For the past 7 years, I have been working for our Local UPS Store as store manager and I just love it. When I am not working I am spending time with my family and friends and of course crafting! I have been passionate about crafting my entire life. My main love of course, is Paper Crafting, specifically card making. I also like to sew, bead and crochet and teach others how to show thier creative sides. I am so honored and privileged to be joining such and awesome group of ladies here at YNS, I can’t wait to get started and share all my creations with you!!

Deborah Anton

Deborah Anton
Designer
My name is Deborah Anton and I am a stay at home mom to 11 year old twin boys and a wife of 12 years to a patient, loving, and awesome Army Officer. I am originally from California but currently live in Tennessee. I keep pretty busy just on the home-front with my active boys playing different sports, moving every few years, and volunteering with the Army. But in the little "me" time I do get, I love to do anything crafty and hide in my craft room!! I started out 11 years ago designing and creating jewelry for 2 large retailers, which led me to having my own business; until 8 years ago when I met designer paper and glue. A new love relation began! I am so excited to be part of the YNS team and work alongside so many talented ladies!

Jen Roach

Jen Roach
Designer
My name is Jennifer and I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband and 3 year old daughter. I'm a scientist by day and a paper crafter by night ---or really just about any free time I have including my lunch breaks at work!!

I started out in paper crafting back in about 2002 when my Mom and I took a scrapbooking class together. A few years later I decided to give card making a try and it's been my passion ever since. I'm the world's slowest scrapbooker so the instant gratification of card making really won me over. Over the years I have used more and more stamping in my designs and I love learning and trying new techniques and styles.

I would probably define myself as a "scrappy stamper". I *LOVE* patterned paper and most of my cards have lots of it with added layered on embellishments and textures. My cards may not be easy to mail but boy are they pretty!!

Other than crafting, I love to play tennis as you can probably tell from my blog address:

Julie Elak

Julie Elak
Designer
Hi, I am Julie Elak, aka "The Last Minute Crafter". My days are kept busy working full time and running after my children. I use almost every free minute to craft, my purse is typically full of copics and a pari of scissors. I began stamping well over 10 years ago, but my love for paper crafting found renewed energy once I discovered the online community in 2009. I started a blog on a whim and am so happy I did. I have made many friendships and found so much support and encouragement on-line.

Laura Nehring

Laura Nehring
Designer
My name is Laura, and I am SO excited and honored to be joining the Your Next Stamp Team! I am a former preschool/kindergarten teacher, now stay at home mom to 3 energetic kiddos - 5 year old twin girls, and a 4 year old boy. I met my husband the year I graduated from highschool, and we've been together ever since. We are enjoying life in sunny southern California, where we were both born and raised.

I started scrapbooking in 2006 when I was pregnant with my girls, which led me to stamping and cardmaking a few years later. The point of no return was when I purchased my first Copic marker at a local scrapbook expo 2 years ago... now I'm hooked! I LOVE to color, and it's how I unwind at the end of a busy day! My card making style is fairly clean and simple... I like for the images to be the focus of my creations, so I don't do a lot of embellishing. In addition to Copics, I am also completely obsessed with Kraft Cardstock, and polka dots! I am really looking forward to being a part the YNS team!

Nicole Nastali

Nicole Nastali
Designer
Hi! I’m a former kindergarten teacher who is now a stay at home mom to my 2 little girls. My hubby is supportive of all my crafty pursuits and that says a lot about him because I love all kinds of crafts from making headbands, bows, & designing dresses to making party favors and now cards!! I am a newcomer on the stamping scene and have met so many wonderful crafting friends already thanks to the common joy of card making and coloring with Copic markers. I would color all day long if my family would let me…!! Lol! My favorite colors are the blue greens (affectionately called the BG’s) and I try to sneak them into every card I make!! I love to get crafty with my girls (ages 8 & 6) and let them color images right along side me. It’s a fun hobby for us all to share!! A sleepover stamp from YNS was one of my very first stamp purchases & I’ve been in love with Fhiona & friends ever since!! I’m thrilled to be joining the YNS Team with this group of fabulously talented ladies & I can’t wait to share my cards with you!!

I'm a former Administrative Assistant turned stay-at-home mom to a very special young lady. I've been crafting since I was a young child, and when I became a SAHM I turned to crafting to stay busy. Staying busy making cards, altering items, and just having fun with paper is an amazing hobby that I truly fell in love with. I'm very grateful that I have a husband that supports me, that my son loves seeing my creations as well, and my special young lady enjoys getting into my crafts. I truly love the challenge of making something beautiful with the various products available to the crafting industry. That is why I am super excited to share my projects featuring the amazing YNS Digital Stamps, and I look forward to seeing your creations as well!

Sheila Veitch

Sheila Veitch
Designer
I was borne and grew up in a small town Canada. I started paper crafting in the fall of 2007, when I saw a stamping catalogue one of my friends had laying around her home. I took one look through the catalogue and was so excited because I knew I had found my favorite hobby at last! Making Cards. I’m a natural born artist, I completed a graphic arts program in college and worked as an artist for several years a life time ago. I currently work as an office administrator in Toronto where I live with my dog Georgie. Though I absolutely love my job, this hobby is my creative outlet. I believe, the cards I make are like little works of art, expressed from the heart. I find that when I’m making a card for a specific person, I am thinking about that person through the whole process. And that in itself can be the gift.
